ABOUT US
Voyage Fine Art Photography is a husband-and-wife team (Richard and Jessica Hayes) of Professional Photographers specializing in Weddings, Fine Art Portraits, and Fantasy Based Portraiture, based in the North East Georgia area.
Richard was born and raised in Cleveland, GA and has lived in the surrounding area a majority of his life. In 2011 he graduated from North Georgia Technical College with an Associates degree in Photography. After college, he began his career as a photographer that has spanned hundreds of weddings and events, thousands of portraits and even four years serving as lead videographer/photographer for Holland America Cruise Lines. In 2016 he graduated from Piedmont College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. He recently finished his Master of Art Education from Piedmont College, while continuing to shoot portraits and weddings.
Richard is a member of Professional Photographers of America and an active member of the Georgia Professional Photographers Association. In 2020 he won 1st place in the Illustrative category for the GPPA image competition, as well as Best in Show. He is a three-time award winner for the annual Scott Kelby Photowalk. Richard has also had numerous publications in local newspapers and magazines.
Jessica graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College with an Associates Degree in Visual Communications/ Print Design in 2011 and got her first job in photography working as a school photographer right out of college. During her first 5 years in the field doing school portraits, senior sessions, sports, and dances, she won various awards for her attention to detail and hard work.
She then went on to join cruise ships to explore the world. On ships she worked as a photographer where she most enjoyed taking formal portraits and helping people make lasting memories. While on her first contract she met Richard and it was love at first sight.
Between contracts she worked with a past GPPA (Georgia Professional Photographers Association) president working as his editor and assistant photographer. It was one of the best learning experiences she could have imagined.
After two years on land, she went back to do another contract with Richard on Norwegian Cruise Lines, again as a photographer. After ship life she came back to one of her true loves, school photography. Lovingly so, because of the smiles she gets to bring to kids faces every day and the memories she gets to make. She has focused more on her work with portraits and weddings in recent months and is looking forward to making photography an even larger part of her life.
